Eye Tracking During Everyday Tasks

(IRB#: IRB_00207449)

We are studying how people use their eyes while finding, checking, and using objects during everyday activities. Participants will wear eye-tracking glasses and complete several short tasks using common objects, such as arranging items, packing a small bag, or putting together a simple object arrangement. The eye-tracking glasses will record where participants look and will also record a video of the area in front of them. After some tasks, participants may review part of their recording and answer questions about which objects they were looking at and using to guide the task. The goal of this research is to better understand how eye movements relate to the objects people use during multi-step activities and to develop computer methods that can recognize this relationship.
