Understanding Insurance Barriers to GLP-1 Medications for Weight Management

(IRB#: IRB_00197900)

We are doing a study to understand how people get access to GLP-1 medications used for weight management, such as semaglutide or tirzepatide. Many people face insurance problems like high costs, denials, or delays. We want to learn what these experiences are like and how they affect care. We will interview adults who have tried to get a GLP-1 medication and health care providers who prescribe them. The goal is to better understand real barriers and help improve future access to these medications. Interviews take about 20-25 minutes and can be done by Zoom or phone.
