Improving Hearing for People with Cochlear Implants

(IRB#: IRB_00194529)

This study wants to better understand how adults with cochlear implants benefit from fine timing details in sound to support everyday listening. The study will measure hearing ability not only through listening tests, but also by tracking eye movements. Participants in the study will sit in a quiet room, listen to sounds played through speakers, headphones, and a computer. People will also listen to sounds in more natural environments. Being in the study lasts about 2 to 8 hours per session and requires 1 to 5 sessions over several days. People will be paid for being in the study.
