Developing and Testing an AI-Based Hybrid Chatbot for Financial Empowerment in Rural Cancer Care

(IRB#: IRB_00193501)

This study will develop and test a new chatbot designed to help rural cancer patients and caregivers navigate the financial challenges of cancer care called SAFE.ai (Self-Advocacy for Financial Empowerment Assistant). A chatbot is a computer program that can engage in conversation with people. People in the study will attend 2 online sessions, including completing a survey, trying out two different versions of the chatbot. People will then share feedback on the usefulness, ease of use, and overall experience using the chatbot. All activities will be done online using a technology device such as a computer. Being in the study lasts about 2 weeks. Participants will be compensated for completing study activities.
