Study Details
Testing a Gaming Approach to Improve Health for People with Atrial Fibrillation, Diastolic Heart Failure, or Obesity
(IRB#: IRB_00184498)
This study will explore whether game-like elements can help people with health issues like atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat), diastolic heart failure, or obesity. The study wants to see if reward-based, friendly competition and community support can encourage participants to reach health goals, like staying active, eating healthier, and tracking symptoms. Participants will sign up online and complete surveys about activity levels, diet, energy levels, and health symptoms. Through a website called Gardens, participants will log progress, earn points for staying active and completing health tasks, and monitor their health. Points will be redeemed for prizes, like gift cards or free wellness classes, and participants will see rankings on a leaderboard.
