Testing Step Training and Balance

This study will test the impact of step training on improving balance. This study wants to help enhance fall prevention interventions and physical and cognitive health. People in the study will attend a 5-hour visit at the study clinic. Participation requires completing surveys and a step training activity while wearing sensors to measure heart rate, brain activity, and body movements.

Who can participate?

 Gender: All genders

  Age: Over 18 years old

  Volunteers: Healthy Volunteers

   Location: In Person

Inclusion Criteria

  • Ages 18 to 40 years old and 60 to 85 years old
  • Speak and read English
  • Physically active at least 1 hour per week
  • Able to attend in person at the University of Utah

Exclusion Criteria

  • Health condition that prevents full participation, such as severe heart disease, mental health, vision impaired
  • Use of a mobility aid such as a cane to help walk
  • Left hand or leg dominant
  • Pregnant
