Study of Revision Elbow Surgery for Nerve Pain

This study intends to better understand a persons recovery from a second elbow surgery using a commercially available implantable nerve protection device called the Axoguard HA+ Nerve Protector. This study surgery and surgical device are available as part of regular medical care. This study will see how to improve recovery from elbow surgeries like revision cubital tunnel syndrome decompressions. People in the study will have the second elbow surgery and provide information about the surgery, as well as about pain and function in the elbow, forearm, and hand. People in the study will also complete assessments and questionnaires of surgery recovery time. Being in the study requires in-person visits and some virtual visits. Participation lasts about 18 months.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Ages 18 years and older
  • Pain at the elbow
  • Willing to have a standard of care second surgery for elbow pain
  • Meet additional pain and function requirements of your elbow, forearm, and hand determined by the study doctor

Exclusion Criteria

  • Have had a previous revision cubital tunnel decompression procedure (second surgery to relieve elbow pain)
  • Current or past trauma affecting study participation
  • Smoke or use tobacco
  • Current or history of alcohol or substance abuse
  • Uncontrolled diabetes
