Testing Treatments for People with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

(IRB#: IRB_00143448)

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a serious disease that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. It causes muscles to weaken over time and can lead to death. This study is testing a drug called fluticasone propionate in adults with ALS. It will also look at four treatmentsZilucoplan, Verdiperstat, CNM-Au8, and Pridopidineto see if they are safe and if they help people with ALS. Participants in the study will be randomly assigned (like flipping a coin) to receive one of the treatments or a placebo (a substance with no active drug). The study lasts about 10 months and includes up to 8 clinic visits and 5 phone visits. During the study, medical tests will be done to check participants health.
