Emotion Regulation and Depression in Older Adults

Emotional regulation (ER) may be how a person behaves in social settings and in decision-making. Most ER research is from young adults. We want to learn about ER in older adults and the impact of depression. The information we gain may aid future patients.

Gender: All genders
Age: Over 18 years old
Volunteers: Healthy Volunteers
Location: In Person
Inclusion Criteria
- Ages 55 to 79 years old
- Fluent in English
- Diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder or
- No diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder
- In-person at the University of Utah
Exclusion Criteria
- Severe medical illness(s)
- Severe mental illness(s)
- Other brain issues such as severe head trauma, Parkinsons disease, or syndrome
- Nutrition problems
- Use of drugs causing depression
