Predicting Disease in the Esophagus

(IRB#: IRB_00101871)

The esophagus is the tube that allows people to swallow. This study wants to learn more about how to predict disease in the esophagus. Participants will have been referred for an esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). This is a procedure where a small tube with a camera on the end is passed into the esophagus, stomach, and first portion of the small intestines. This is done to see the inside of these organs and look for any disease. Being in the study requires participants to share results from the EGD. Other medical tests will be done to collect study information such as spitting in a tube and having blood drawn.
