Long-term study of foot and ankle anatomy in children and teens with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease

(IRB#: IRB_00195630)

CharcotMarieTooth (CMT) disease can affect how the feet and ankles grow and move. This study looks at how the bones and muscles in the feet and ankles change over time in children and teens with CMT. What we learn may help improve future treatments. The study includes three visits over two years. Children and teens with and without CMT will have medical imaging to take pictures of their feet and ankles. Those with CMT will also have genetic testing and simple tests of muscle strength, hand use, and walking. The movement tests will be repeated after one year and after two years.
