Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation for People with Fibromyalgia Pain
(IRB#: IRB_00193109)
Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that causes widespread muscle pain throughout the body. This study will test a new, non-invasive brain stimulation using focused ultrasound. The study wants to see if this brain stimulation helps people with fibromyalgia pain. People in the study will be randomly chosen to receive the focused ultrasound treatment or a placebo. A placebo appears to be like the treatment but is inactive. People in the study will have magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to take an image of the brain, complete surveys, and medical tests. Being in the study requires both in-person and virtual visits over about 18 weeks. The total time commitment is about 15 hours.
